Spark is a tablet that uses the Linux operating system. This is good news for lovers of open source, which the Linux kernel-based tablet will begin to circulate in Europe next week. The tablet is claimed to be suitable not only for regular use, but also perfect for those who like to make the software by using Linux tools. Spark will be able to access ebooks from Project Gutenberg, and applications based on Qt and QML.

Spark uses a 7-inch screen with resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, and will run on Plasma Active UX operating system kernel Linux-based, multi-platform environment Plasma of KDE, and Qt. Spark is powered by a dual-core processor 1 GHz, Mali-400 GPU, and RAM 512 MB to support its performance.

In addition, the Spark is also supported by the specification that is equally with other tablets, among others, will be packaged with a 4GB internal memory and can be added via the SD card. The tablet also comes with a 1.3 megapixel camera, and also features connectivity that consists of two USB ports, and 3.5 mm audio jack.

For the price, the Spark will be priced around 262 dollars with a pre-order starting next week. Unfortunately though it can pre-order, this tablet will be shipped starting in the month of May. For lovers of open source, maybe Spark could be an alternative because it is tablet based on Linux kernel.
